Selling to me
Do you buy small collections?
Yes. There's no minimum, so a handful of LPs is fine.
Do I have to bring my records to you?
No. I come to you, anywhere within about 30 miles of Loughton, and further for bigger collections.
What should I send you first?
A few photos, a rough idea of how many records there are, and where you are. Rough is fine; I'll sort out the detail when I visit.
How do you pay?
There and then. Most people take cash, but I can also pay by bank transfer or PayPal.
Will you take the whole collection?
I don't cherry-pick. If we agree a price, I take the lot and save you the job of getting rid of the rest.
Do I need to clean, sort or grade my records first?
No. I go through every record myself.
What if I have a very large collection?
Get in touch and we'll talk through the options.
What I buy
What kind of records do you buy?
Most genres on vinyl: rock, metal, pop, soul, R&B, folk, blues, jazz, punk, indie, reggae and soundtracks. If you hum it, I'll likely buy it.
Which formats do you buy?
LPs, 12"s, 10"s and 7" singles, plus picture discs, coloured vinyl, promos and one-offs. (Did you know there are also 8" singles out there? Not many were made, though.)
Do you buy CDs, cassettes or 78s?
No. I only buy vinyl, and that doesn't include 78s, the old shellac records made for gramophones.
Do you buy old records or new ones?
Both, but I'll let you in on a secret: I love records from the 1960s and 70s. Don't worry if you think yours are too old for anyone to want. I want them.
Do you buy memorabilia or signed items?
Yes, alongside records. Records are the main thing.
Condition
Does condition matter?
It affects the price, but don't let it stop you getting in touch. I play or inspect pretty much every record before it finds a new home, and well-loved records are part of the charm.
